The following investigators will each receive a $2000 grant in recognition of their outstanding poster submission:

  • Basic Science:  Veena Sangkhae, Ph.D.  Hepcidin-mediated iron restriction during pregnancy results in adverse pregnancy outcomes
  • Clinical/HSR:  Kimberly Narain, MD, MPH.  Changes in the impact of welfare reform on women’s health over time
  • iGiant/Technology Improving Women ‘s Health and Wellbeing:  Priya Batra, M.D., M.S.  Preliminary findings of a clustered randomized trial of MyFamilyPlan: A novel web-based preconception health education tool

 

The following students were recognized as having the top-scoring student abstracts in the competition

  • Basic science:  Julia Phan.  Abnormal genetic profile of subcutaneous (SC) adipose stem cells (ASCs) from lean women with polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Clinical/HSR:  Rene Garcia.  Evaluating body mass index as a predictor of contraception use
